BRONCOS HISTORY The Broncos were the original six teams
of the American football league. They did not have a winning season until 1973,
when they went 5-7-2, and they did not go to the playoffs until 1977, when they
went all the way to the Super Bowl 12. A first real star of the Broncos was Lionel
Taylor, a little-known and who had spent one year with the Chicago Bears. Taylor
led the AF L. and receiving five times in his first six years, and became the
first pro football player ever to catch 100 passes into season. Although the Broncos
have lost all four times they have been in the Super Bowl, no AFC team has appeared
more times in that game except the Miami Dolphins. |
