EAGLES HISTORY The Chiefs for one of the six original
Bea felt teams, when they were located in Dallas and originally known as the Texans.
In fact, their owner, Lamar Hunt, was the man who came up with the idea for the
founding of the AFL. Along with Tex Schramm of the Dallas Cowboys, Hunt moved
his team to Kansas City in 1963, the years after the Texans won the AFL title.
Three years later, they were the first team to represent the AFL in the Super
Bowl. In 1969, the Chiefs won Super Bowl for, the last game between the AFL and
the NFL before their realignment into one league with two conferences. |
