| On November 30th 1993, after 4 years of hopeful
anticipation, the Jaguars became the 30th NFL franchise.
July, 1995 the Jaguars
played their 1st game in Canton, Ohio In the annual Hall of Fame Game. Their opponent
was NFL's other expansion franchise, the Carolina Panthers. The panthers won 20-14,
but both teams benefited from the game as it became apparent that they were ready
to compete in the NFL.
The Jaguars quickly became one of the dominant teams
in the NFL. The team reached the AFL championship game in 1996 and 1999. | |
