RAIDERS HISTORY The Raiders were one of the original AF
L. teams, although they were initially supposed to be located in Minneapolis.
When the NFL awarded a team to Minnesota, the new AF L. franchise move to Oakland
for its first season. The Raiders were one of the best teams in pro football in
the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s: between 1967 and 1976, they played in
eight AF L. or AFC title games. in 1982 years after winning their second Super
Bowl, the Raiders moved to Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, which had been vacated
by the Los Angeles Rams. Two years later, they brought the only Super Bowl title
to Los Angeles. |
